Two weights, different in mass, hang on either side of the metal body, with the nylon wire wrapped in two loops around the cylindrical body. Puncture to the thermometer allows to determine the temperature of the metallic body.

The weights change their condition, and it is possible to measure and thus calculate the "loss" of mechanical energy.
